Dear colleagues, In order to combat the corona pandemic, citizens are being offered free corona rapid tests by the government of Germany. As a Foundation, FIWARE also feels responsible for helping to combat and contain the corona pandemic as quickly as possible. We would therefore like to supplement the measures already taken in our organization and are therefore making one "Corona self-test" per week available free of charge to all colleagues who need or like to visit our office in Berlin and not permanently from home. I've asked Andrea to order these tests which should be available tomorrow or on Wednesday. The self-tests provided by us may not be used by other persons, in particular also not by persons belonging to your household. We expressly point out that, according to current scientific knowledge, you may still be infected/infectious despite a negative test. Therefore, even if the test result is negative, you should be alert to any symptoms of infection with the coronavirus and must continue to comply with the governmental rules of conduct and those in force in our office (e.g. wearing protective masks). Nevertheless, self-testing can detect infections and thus limit the spread of corona virus. In case of a positive test result, you are obliged (e.g. according to the Corona - Test - Quarantine regulations in Berlin) to undergo a PCR test at a recognized testing center. In addition, in this case you must avoid non-mandatory contact with other persons and immediately go to your home (so-called quarantine). The procedure in detail: You can receive a Corona self-test free of charge 1x per week before starting work at the entrance area of our office Please note this in the provided list. To perform the test, go to your workplace by the direct/shortest route. There you will read the medical instruction leaflet, perform the self-test properly and wait until the result is available. If the result is negative: Dispose of the test utensils as described on the test package insert and go to your workplace as usual. If the result is positive: Inform your manager as well as Andrea by email (You can also write this mail later from home). Leave the building by the shortest route, avoid non-essential contact with others, and immediately enter domestic quarantine. Submit to PCR testing at an approved testing site. Local health departments are available to provide advice and assistance. If the PCR test is positive, report the result by e-mail to your manager and Andrea. If the PCR test is negative, you can return to your office.
