About a month ago, we informed you about *the upcoming changes in the
FIWARE leadership team*: FIWARE CEO Ulrich Ahle will start his new role as
Gaia-X CEO highly expected from November 1, 2023 (find here

press release from September 29).

The past month has served to conduct the candidates search and a
first round of interviews with a high quality selection of applicants. This
process is well under way.

FIWARE's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dario Avallone, wants to let
you know: “*The search for our next CEO has begun, and we look forward to
identifying the right leader to work with the management team, our FIWARE
Board of Officers, to support the foundation’s future global growth - and
its growth in all verticals of focus. We all share the team’s excitement
about the FIWARE’s innovative strength and the opportunities that lie ahead
to serve our members and partners, and ultimately the market for a common
good*.”

*Expecting a limited interim period, Ulrich Ahle will remain in his FIWARE
CEO role in addition to his new Gaia-X role until the successor is in
place.*

We would like to thank Ulrich once more for his leadership and assistance
in completing the onboarding of FIWARE's next CEO and his commitment to
ensuring a successful transition while providing excellent care for our
community and the overall ecosystem.

Ulrich shared, *"as a FIWARE ‘lifer’ for seven years, I am honored to serve
FIWARE in this interim period to continue our mission and strategic
direction forward seamlessly.” *To make this possible while starting with
Gaia-X, Ulrich is currently handing over several of his honorary posts to
