Dear Thijs,

I am afraid I have made a mistake. I have been recently informed that the prize is not for the travel to Brazil but the acceptance of the prize entails committing yourself to go to Brazil.

This applies just to  the winners who accept the prizes.

My most sincere apologies for the inconveniences this may cause.

As regards prizes, the 1st call that finishes on the 20th of December is self contained. This means  that if you win a prize, it is yours and you also get invited to the challenges in Brazil.  In other words, if you win a prize in this 1st stage, you additionally have the possibility of going but you are not obliged to go to Brazil. No strings attached.

I am not aware of any travel costs allocated to this in the budget of FI-WARE so I guess that the answer to your question is no.  You may be aware that you wrote to the list for technical questions on FI-Lab. I CC the mailbox dedicated to the rules of the challenges where they should know the answer. Today is a national holiday in Spain but they should be able to read this on Monday.
