[Fiware-chapter-active-contributors] IMPORTANT: Election of members of the FIWARE Technical Steering Committee

Dear all,

   You are receiving this mail because you were registered as FIWARE 
Chapter Active Contributor or as point of contact regarding a given 
FIWARE Generic Enabler (Incubated or not). Members of the FIWARE TSC are 
also in copy.

   According to the FIWARE bylaws 
<https://www.fiware.org/foundation/bylaws/>, the FIWARE Technical 
Steering Committee shall be renewed on a yearly basis.  Therefore, I'm 
kindly approaching you to ask that you to activelly participate in such 
important Commmunity process.

*A c***all for candidatures for each of the seats associated to FIWARE 
chapters is now open. You may submit your candidature by means of 
registering it using the following application form

Deadline for submitting your candidature is July 11th, 22:00 CEST.**

***Besides the opportunity to run for elections in any of the FIWARE 
Chapters we will ask for your vote a) regarding FIWARE chapters where 
you have been registered as Active Contributors and there are more than 
2 candidates, b) election of remarkable individuals (if more 
candidatures than seats are submitted.***

   As a reminder, according to the mentioned FIWARE bylaws, the FIWARE 
TSC shall be composed by:**

  * *

    Two representatives of each FIWARE Chapter

  *

    One representative of each Platinum Member (PM)

  *

    Remarkable Individual Members elected by the Chapter Active
    Contributors, up to one third of the number of Chapter
    representatives plus PM representatives.

The FIWARE TSC members shall be also FIWARE Foundation Individual 
Members since they are required to adhere to the FIWARE Code of Conduct.

The current FIWARE TSC has agreed that the following chapters be 
considered (corresponding GEs within parentheses for chapters linked to 
the FIWARE Catalogue of components):

  * Core chapter (Orion, Orion-LD, Scorpio, Stellio)
  * Connectors for Context Processing (STH-Comet, Cygnus, Cosmos, Draco,
    QuantumLeap, Canis Major)
  * Context Processing (Perseo, Kurento, Openvidu, FogFlow)
  * Visualization Chapter (Wirecloud)
  * Interface to IoT and other systems (IoT Agents, Open MTC, Oliot EPCIS)
  * Interface with Robotic systems (Fast RTPS, Micro XCRE-DDS, FIROS)
  * Security and API Management (Keyrock, Wilma, AuthZForce, API
    umbrella, CoatRack, TRUE Connector)
  * Publication and Monetization / Data Publication and Trading (CKAN
    extensions, BAE, Idra)
  * FIWARE Tutorials
  * FIWARE Lab
  * FIWARE Deployment tools (proposed new chapter, linked to the FIWARE
    helm-charts <https://github.com/FIWARE/helm-charts> community project)
  * Smart Data Models (proposed new chapter to incorporate those who
    contribute to management of the initiative or development of support
    tools)

*There are two new proposed chapters and the TSC is considering merging 
some of the existing. A final decision will be taken by the TSC among 
other things considering the number of candidatures per chapter. Taking 
into account that we currently have 6 seats reserved for Platinum 
Members, then we would have up to (6+2*<number-of-chapters>) / 3 = 9 or 
10 remarkable individuals to be elected, therefore 37-40 seats in total 
(maximum).*

*****Calendar for the elections will be as follows:*****

 1. *now - July 11 EOD: Deadline for candidates to the different
    chapters through candidates spreadsheet.
    *
 2. *TSC of July 12: Analysis to determine final chapters and which
    chapters require voting and announcement of nominated candidates for
    them.*
 3. *TSC of July 12 - July 18 EOD: voting of candidates in chapters
    which require voting*
 4. *TSC of July 19: announcement of chapter representatives at the new
    TSC and call for candidatures as remarkable individuals (9 seats)*
 5. *July 20 - July 25 EOD: Deadline for candidates as remarkable
    individuals*
 6. *TSC of July 26: Final list of candidates to be elected as
    remarkable individuals*
 7. *TSC of July 26 - July 31 EOD: voting of candidates for seats
    associated to remarkable individuals*
 8. *August 2: final list of new TSC members announced via mail*

to be elected member of the FIWARE TSC to join coordination calls*. 
FIWARE members (including individual members) are welcome to attend and 
participate first-hand in discussions as well as folllow-up on progress 
of activities with regards to the different FIWARE components and FIWARE 
Chapter activities, including FIWARE Roadmap activities. You can check
