[Fiware-chapter-architects] What to do to edit the wiki - a small tutorial

A last message to end the week :)

Those who were here in the previous FIWARE project have it clear but the newcomers may feel a bit insecure. Let us provide some basic training to ensure that all of you know how to edit the wiki. Of course, I will not delve into details of mediawiki edition, most of you will know already anyway.

The wiki we are referring to is the public wiki (wiki.fi-ware.org). This one is associated to the project called "FI-WARE" under the FIWARE forge(http://forge.fi-ware.org/)

What you need to be able to edit pages on our wiki is:

1) A forge account. As expressed in previous messages, you have a tutorial here:

  *   How to create a FusionForge account<http://forge.fi-ware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/How_to_create_a_FusionForge_account>
  *   ensure that the mail you use is corporate (gmail, yahoo, etc., will be rejected)

2) The forge has many projects. I already mentioned that you need access to FI-WARE, FI-WARE  PPP Restricted and the project of your chapter. The one that grants you access to the edition of the wiki is the first one ("FI-WARE"). The tutorial to apply is here:

3) Once you have a forge account and access to FI-WARE, all you need is to go to the forge page (http://forge.fi-ware.org/), log in and going to the combo box on the upper right corner ("Quick jump to..."), choose FI-WARE -> mediawiki

4) This takes you to the wiki. Most wiki pages (all not blocked) offer you a "Edit" tab.

Be aware that this work is collaborative (all can edit the pages we are using) and that you can accidentally delete work from the others. Edit very respectfully and carefully! also note that this is public and our window to the world, there are many eyes watching what we do in these pages.

More exhaustive training will be provided on the forge later in December but this is all you need for now.
