Dear Juanjo, the approach to announce that activities are no longer followed two days before this becomes effective is a bit strange. As described last week and also as Ernoe explained we prepared for the expansion beyond Europe since months, and now that we can harvest the results, we should stop immediately? Agreements with our counterparts made two weeks before are no longer valid? This is not only inappropriate for FIWARE, it also screws up our reputation. In addition I am not aware of the FI-Link project’s objective nor have I seen any plan or offer from them for a serious handover. Second, I understand, if the budget for involving Open Source Communities is under certain conditions at the disposal of other activities. This is actually the reason, why I proposed to use this budget to overcome the neglect from the project start, in which resources for the dissemination of the projects results have been forgotten for NEC. I do not understand why this proposal was discarded without any comment. In conclusion of the above I propose to take our remaining budget for expansion beyond Europe to the exploitation task, which allows us to continue exploiting FIWARE outside of Europe; and to reallocate the resources from the OSC task to the dissemination task to enable also NEC to claim their dissemination activities. Stopping or hindering dissemination and exploitation should be no option for FIWARE. Once again, we stress the following points: · The detailed estimation of how much funding could be released as a result of stopping the funding of certain activities is an estimation. We took into consideration the costs you reported by month 10th and then extrapolated how much it might be expected that you will report for the period between month 11 and month 13, assuming you would consume resources at a speed very similar to the speed you have consumed resources during the first semester of 2015 (also bearing in mind the holidays period). · Final figures about how much funding will finally be released will depend very much on the final costs reported and accepted for the activities for which funding will be stopped. We will carefully review the costs that will be reported by partners at the time the report for the first year reporting period of FI-Core will be produced. In this respect, we have identified that some partners seem like they were about to exhaust the resources (therefore the funding) initially assigned to tasks (development of new GEris among others) for which funding will be stopped effective October 1st. Justifications for this will be carefully assessed by us as coordinators. This besides the ordinary assessment of the justification of reported costs by the partners in regard to the 1st reporting period (first 13 months of the project) · The new DoW amendment will be effective October 1st.
