[Fiware-chapter-architects] Status of the Open Call and selected proposals

Dear all,

It is time to give you an update on the Open Call(https://www.fiware.org/fiware-lab-open-call-2015/).  I am glad to inform you that we already have 6 proposals selected  by a team of independent evaluators (and a backup list of 2 reserve proposals just in case). This list is in the hands of the EC already and the proposers have been informed of the outcome.

We have started meetings with each one of the 6 winning consortia to discuss the formal details and incorporate them as part of the FI-Core project consortium if all goes well. The formal steps include the signature of the contract, the FI-Core CA and the PPP CA.

The incorporation of the new partners will take place in an amendment (Amendment 2) and we will add some text with their contribution to the DoW. We are trying to set up the official start date for them on 1/Feb/2016 or alternatively 1/March/2016 but this is still open.

Note that we still need to close the previous one (Amendment 1) which will hopefully happen once we satisfy a few pending requests  from the EC. We do not foresee many problems and we are hopeful that amendment 1 will be closed soon.

The prospective partners are:

The reserve ones are: Huawei and FLOSSystems.

One of the formal steps is to ask the current consortium for formal objections to the incorporation of the prospective partners (selected ones and also the reserve list). Let us set up a deadline for objections on Monday, 15/Feb/2016 EOB.
