[Fiware-chapter-leaders] Status of the Technical Whitepaper and plan for uploading first take of the FIWARE tour guide for developers on the website

Dear all,

  Thanks to all of you who have completed the contribution to a first take of the FIWARE Technical Whitepaper:

  I would like to ask Javier and Sergio to work out how the contents of the section about "Offering (Open) Data through the FIWARE Store" can be merged with the section on "Publication of context information as Open Data".   It doesn't make sense to keep them separate.

  The development of contents about Advanced UX to be completed by the advanced Web-based UI chapter team is still rather weak and does not align with the reference provided (check contents on section about "development of context-aware applications").   Please try to fix this urgently.   Some requests/recommendations:

  *   Please come to a first-level description which can help to introduce the whole chapter.   Bring some more appealing picture regarding the architecture.
  *   Develop each concrete matter with a specific "how-to" section.   The title of each of each how-to section should give a clear hint to developers about what is the kind of problem or technical challenge that they will learn how to solve if they read the section.

  I may come back to all chapters with more detailed comments once I have reviewed the whole content of the whitepaper.

  Note that uploading these contents to the website is a high priority task.    We are constantly receiving feedback that developers get lost and can hardly understand what FIWARE can do for them because we make them land directly on the FIWARE catalogue.    The quick FIWARE tour guide for developers will help to address this issue.   Therefore, we will make all efforts to upload a first take of this guide this week, even at the prize that the contents of some chapter will not be there.   I hope this won't be the case.   Note that contents won't be written on a stone.   We will further enhance them as a result of peer reviews or feedback gathered from third developers and/or FIWARE accelerator projects.

  We have been working with Ogilvy in the design of the web pages at fiware.org which, once you click on "developers" at the home page, will provide info to developers based on the technical whitepaper.   I will provide some details about the user experience we are designing in a separate mail.
