Let's see what is this effort and evaluate it together with the alignment with the Community and after that we will take a decission. And of course, it will be a very big effort. So let's estimate it and take the decision. I've added the work item to do that. Regarding the specific issue of the client-side library -- thinking of sustainability of what we develop in FIWARE (especially after FI-Core ends), I think the best approach would be to align with the direction the community is taking. This way we can take advantage of all the OpenStack community work in FIWARE going forward (without the need to constantly duplicate the same new features ourselves, as it has been happening until now), and also make it easy to contribute our unique enhancements to the OpenStack community. I understand that this might be a significant effort, but in might opinion it might be worth it, in the long run. Keep in mind that long-term sustainability is a key goal in FI-Core. Maybe it would be easier to make the decision once we better understand the required effort. Can you, please, add a work item for the current sprint to estimate the effort? As some other FIWARE partners, we (DIT-UPM) attended the meeting, in order to keep in contact with the Openstack community and improve the alignment of our developments with the general line of Opensack projects. Regarding Cloud chapter and specifically the Cloud Portal, the main topic is that the community is working on migrating the dashboard from Django-based web server to a client side one (all MVC running in the browser). In order to do that, as we already know, they have chosen AngularJS technology. Mainly because of its similarities with Django views templates. They are planning the migration step by step, starting with some views of the identity service. The current implementation of our Cloud Portal fits with the proposed architecture (our MVC runs in client side) but not with the chosen technology (we use Backbone.js). In the next weeks we will evaluate if it makes sense to work in their direction and also if we make an action plan to align with them. If you have any insights or suggestions about it, we would appreciate if you share them in the list. Many thanks and best regards. -- Álvaro & Joaquín_______________________________________________ Fiware-cloud mailing list Fiware-cloud at lists.fi-ware.org<mailto:Fiware-cloud at lists.fi-ware.org> https://lists.fi-ware.org/listinfo/fiware-cloud ________________________________ Este mensaje y sus adjuntos se dirigen exclusivamente a su destinatario, puede contener información privilegiada o confidencial y es para uso exclusivo de la persona o entidad de destino.
