[Fiware-coaches] TR: Fi-Ware Infrastructure problems

Dear all,

See below and e.mail exchange in the context of FI-C3 support.

Despite I think iMind should play its role of being both part of FI-C3 and XIFI node owner in Belgium to support SMEs there, the issue below raise 2 questions:

* How as coach we can stay aware of latest development in FIWARE lab. Maybe I missed a subscription to some mailing list
* How should we track/forward issues related to fiware lab?

Thank you
Franck

Dear Ingrid,

Unfortunately, I do not have privilege access to xifi team which Is separate from the fiware core (ficore) team I belong to.

Anyway, iMind and Image&Reseau are FIWARE lab node owners and thus you should have the privileged access to XIFI.
I will fire the issue with FIWARE core but if you cannot mobilise your staff internally to support the FI-C3 SMEs, I do not think I can do more miracles.

Kind regards
Franck

Dear Franck,

the local nodes can not really act, it has to go via the XIFI help email. As there is no reaction, I assumed that you as a FIWARE coach have a direct access to the XIFI team. Is that correct?

Kind regards, Ingrid

Hello

The question relates to Ghent and Lannion Fiware lab nodes which are yours if I am not wrong.

Can you take care of this answer ?

Thank you
Franck

Dear Franck,

As far as I am concerned the Spanish node is expanding and is under development and we were advised to use others:
either Gent, Budapest or Lannion.

There was also an email communication wrt.

Have also received my other questions regarding GEs and SEs?

Kind regards,
Mat.

Dear Mat

Does these issues exist also with the Spanish node ? Until recently it was the recommended node to be used as federation was not completely operational.

Kind regards
Franck

Dear Franck,

we received your contact details from iMinds - below you can find some questions regarding the FI-Ware infrastructure.

Dear Thomas & Nils,

Just give you a quick feedback about FI-Ware.

We tried to be in contact with respect to all our FI-WARE problems & FI-LAB through e.g. fiware-lab-help at lists.fi-ware.org<mailto:fiware-lab-help at lists.fi-ware.org>. Unfortunately there is no response at all.

We are still stuck with some major issues i.e.

- problem with multiple locations - not possible to a sign IP, not possible to launch an instance - multiple errors without an explanation. The only working location was Budapest but also had problems with getting an instance accessible

- not possible to allocate IP - IP error maybe we should introduce VPN connection

- not-consistent environment across EU - different instance types and sizes across different locations

- small quota for each location - only 5 instances possible - we need more for our project

- some other small errors.

We spend the weekend on testing out FI-WARE and and it seems it's impossible to create a working environment and start testing, even a prototype. We have already sent these info to FI-WARE help but I think that more people should not about it.

Kind regards,
Mat.
