Dear Fiware We are currently involved in a consortium for EU CAPS funding of which part of our proposal includes: The Creation of an *Open Source Crowdfunding Administration Platform for European Funding Initiatives *is being led by a social and sustainable equity crowdfunding platform called www.oneplanetcrowd.com from The Netherlands. Our main objective is to build an open-source crowdfunding administration system to administer obligations from entrepreneurs back to the crowdfunders, to distribute repayments of loans, to distribute capital from exit of shares and to have access to a detailed overview of portfolios. As an open source administrative solution CROWDOS will offer a modular solution for backend integration to both current open source and proprietary solutions in the market via code base and APIs. Standalone, it would have both a backend and frontend component where crowdfunding companies would access and use the former while investors could use that latter to consolidate and view their different investments across different platforms. The rapid rise in equity crowdfunding in Europe has led to enormous fragmentation in the market in terms of software with individual European crowdfunding companies primarily building proprietary versions of their platforms. This is not only duplicitous, it is also ineffective in terms of cost and sheer human resources besides that there is a lack of standardisation in terms of user experience for European investors and project owners who use these services. Making the shift from building proprietary software to building Open Source is new terrain for our company. It would be interesting to know if there's any kind of fit between the resources of FIWARE, in hardware, software and human resources (advisory) in helping us facilitate the project once funded. We have an ICT team in place, with a lot of experience in banking software which is well suited for the project, but we could use more advice on our Open Source strategy and how to ensure we move in the right direction in terms of making sure our CROWDOS platform can be well disseminated amongst those who perhaps want to build future crowdfunding platforms in Europe and ensure we are also using all the potential resources that exist - particularly in the H2020 realm. We are interested in further talks on potential collaboration in the future. Please advise on next steps.
