[Fiware-collaboration-req] Partnership proposal

Good afternoon,

I am writting this email to invite the Fireware Foundation to establish a partnership with the city of Lisbon, Portugal, for the development of our Urban Data Laboratory. It would be a great opportunity to develop and test FIWARE solutions based on real data from an european capital city.

Let me start by introducing myself. I work for the Municipality of Lisbon and I am responsible for the implementation of the data integration platform in the city which, in addition to supporting the future Integrated Operations Center, it will provide information to municipal services, partners, citizens and to the Open Data Portal.

For the acquisition of this platform we launched an international public tender where we already specified FIWARE as a goal. This contest was won by NEC with its CCOC solution that is FIWARE certified.

We are currently implementing this platform, integrating internal municipal systems, sensors, external partner systems and social networks. Our goal is to have the platform in production by May 2018.

At the same time, we are developing the Urban Data Lab project, which will be a partnership between universities, companies and the municipality, and in which we would enjoy your collaboration.

The sharing of experiences and the need to overcome the vendor lock-in related problems are fundamental to the sustainability of these city platforms, and we believe that this is a shared goal.
