UMD19 - The right time to register 2019, October 12th 2nd International Urban Mobility Dialogue 13th–16th November 2019 "The Drivery" • Berlin, Germany Invitation www.smartcity-dialogues.com In case that the content of this email is not displayed properly, please click here Dear Mr. Gemein, There are only some weeks left before the dates that we really wait for – 13th-16th of November 2019, when Berlin will welcome official delegations and individual guests to participate in the 2nd International Smart City Dialogue on Urban Mobility (UMD). We think it is the right time to register now. The meeting point in this year is the Mobility Innovators’ Club The Drivery. The UMD19 is held under the patronage of the Governing Mayor Mr. Michael Müller All the UMD community will highly appreciate if you also experience our hospitality, share it together with us as well as become an influential part of brain-storming for new ideas and projects in the field of urban mobility and transport. World changes rapidly – in terms of technologies, approaches, needs and philosophy – but we have been trying to keep the track and have collected a number of amazing high-lights for you in the field of smart mobility for our nearest get-together: How battery changing systems for the e-vehicles can compete against bio-fuels, normal electrical network charging points and other sources of energy? What is your opinion on the autonomous driving with respect to the social psychology? How is it possible not to have any competitors at all in the field of MaaS and navigation? Which destinations of the world and which spheres of mobility are the best to invest? What are the new business models in mobility sector and how blockchain technologies can work for MaaS and autonomous driving? Where is the golden section in the balance between cars, bicycles and pedestrians? These questions as well as the novelties in the fields of public transport and traffic management, parking and infrastructural solutions in general, big data, last mile distribution and more will be discussed within the four days of the Dialogue. The raised questions have world-wide importance therefore we need your voices for the most true, reliable and applicable conclusions. Thus, we cordially ask you to find those few days of your time in November to help the urban mobility around the globe become more sustainable, convenient and simply – better. The next Generation It is self-evident for us, that we make participation at the UMD also possible for those, who have to care for children in these UMD days. Therefore you can bring you children to The Drivery. A ramper room and child care is ready to welcome the future mobile generation at the UMD as well. Cities It gives us great pleasure to announce, that the following cities have confirmed their participation, delegating high-ranked representatives to present their cities’ mobility situation and philosophy within the "Parade of Cities" on the first UMD19 day and discuss it with you later: Abuja, Nigeria Berlin, Germany Brno, Czech Republic Casablanca, Morocco Johannesburg, South Africa Koprivnica, Croatia Madrid, Spain Moscow, Russia Saint-Petersburg, Russia Tehran, Iran There are a lot more inquired and we are awaiting more confirmations within the next days: Andhra Pradesh province and Hyderabad, India, Barcelona, Spain, Cape Town, South Africa, Haifa and Tel-Aviv, Israel, Kyiv, the Ukraine, London, Great Britain, Montreal, Canada, Tallinn, Estonia, Torino, Italy, Toronto, Canada, Wroclaw, Poland. Program Held at the The Drivery, Berlin the UMD19 starts with Parade of Cities and an evening guest lecture, followed by three days of high-end keynote lectures and Dialogue and Workshop activities guided by our experts, partners and professional moderators. The UMD schedule is constructed to highlight the present cities’ mobility status, as well as their challenges and plans for the future. And this will be followed up by the intensive discussions, talks, shows and entertainment – all meant to help us develop appropriate strategies in the mentioned fields. We will take off with the official welcome notes by the high-level political guests from the German Bundestag and Berlin authorities, continued by the awaited Parade of Cities. In the next two days our common task would be to work very precisely and practically – in the formats of key-notes, panels, dialogue sessions as well as show-case attendance – and collect a number of important conclusions and recommendations for the cities’ representatives and all parties involved. We will all together summarize this on the last day of the event right after the start-ups’ show award ceremony. At the same time we think that those deep and serious talks should be flavored with some portion of fun, therefore all together we will enjoy a few Prosecco receptions, boat trip around Berlin and a gala-dinner. Additionally to the social events a special guest lecture about "The Biology of Mobility" will be presented on the evening of the first UMD19 day by Dr. Arndt Pechstein, an outstanding thinker.
