Subject: FI-WARE presence in Campus Party Mexico (CPMEX5)

Dear all,

FI-WARE is going to be present at Campus Party Mexico as Gold+

Sponsor of the event. Please find attached (sorry but in Spanish) the

several benefits we will be able to enjoy.

We will have a session on the main stage as well as two round panels

on secondary stages. We would like to setup the agenda of speakers

for each of these sections together with our colleagues in Mexico.

We would like to be able to announce the launch of the FI-Lab node

in Mexico in the session on the main stage. Therefore, we would like

to involve some public authority as well as some director of INFOTEC,

which is dealing with the setup of the FI-Lab node. Bottom line, it

may be a session with three speakers, one from some Mexican public

authority, more institutional, one from INFOTEC elaborating on the plans

with the FI-Lab node, and another one giving an overall vision of

FI-WARE (that would be probably me).

One of the round panels would be about "Smart Cities". We wonder

whether it would be feasible to engage representatives of one-two

Mexican city representatives and some expert on Open Data and Smart

Cities who can elaborate on the vision about Smart Cities. We would

propose a speaker to elaborate on FI-WARE as a mean of building a new

concept of Smart Cities which goes beyond the making a more efficient

management of municipal services to transform the City in an ICT enabler

for businesses and the well-being of citizens. The round panel would

be in a relaxed way, all speakers chatting on a sofa, answering

questions of some moderator (ideally some journalist from Mexico).

Despite we wanted to make the other one about "entrepreneurship", it

seems like there will not be a slot available on the stage targeted to

entrepreneurs but the one targeted to developers, so we have to turn it

into a topic which is more technical, therefore I would go for something

around the "Internet of Things" (elaborating on the opportunities that

will be offered to entrepreneurs if we make connection to Internet of

Things something really easy which doesn't require skills on sensor

devices, sensor protocols, etc.). The structure of the panel would be

similar to the panel of smart cities. We would love to invite three

mexican speakers and someone from FI-WARE (Carlos Ralli, architect of

the IoT chapter in FI-WARE would most probably be the one).

We will have a stand of about 45 square meters and Ogilvy is already

working on its design. We already discussed with Hugo that INFOTEC may

contribute with some engineers who can complement the FI-WARE team in

providing support to campuseros and stand activities.

Following our discussion with Hugo I'm now sharing this info with the

EC and the other parties involved in the confcall this Thursday. I

hope partners in the Mexican side can help us to find some good Mexican

speakers who can attract the audience.

Last but not least, we will be able to setup a workshop on "FI-WARE:

Easy development of smart IoT applications". Here we would love to

hear your ideas about what should be the target audience. We may try to

concentrate on giving training to technical people from INFOTEC and

other Mexican partners who will be devoted to work as "evangelists" of

FI-WARE and provide support to local entrepreneurs. We may try to run

some sort of hackathon and give some prizes but we wonder how could it

be the best way to attract enough number of developers given the fact

that they may have not heard about FI-WARE before and there will be a

lot of competing compelling programmer contests running in parallel at

the Campus ...

Last but not least, people from Ogilvy and INFOTEC have started to

work on how to achieve the best impact in media. Anyone who can

contribute to this please contact Domingo and Karla.

   Cheers,

-- Juanjo
