Future Internet: A European initiative turned into real products"

Saludos,

Aurelio

Regions and Chambers of Commerce

.

Hi Nuria,

I didn’t get a response from colleagues last week. A lot of people took
holidays due to the public holiday on Thursday and the bridge day on Friday.
I don’t have a volunteer yet.

Kind regards,

Fiona.

He is an energy and ICT professor, mainly from the energy side so that would
not suit you so well. Perhaps neither ESB nor EON would fit either as they
are both energy concerns. I will have to think about who could do this
well. Perhaps an Ericsson colleague not in FINESCE. I will ask around.

Kind regards,

Fiona.

Thank you Fiona,

What is the organization of prof. Monti? What is your opinion regarding his
participation in the event? At this moment I do not recall if I have seen
him in the past
we need someone with a clear perspective on the business
trends and the impact of Future Internet in the industry. Technical
knowledge is fine, but based on the audience the priority will be
illustrating very well how to use our outcomes to bring business impact to
the Energy sector. Examples will then be welcome.

Thanks for checking the availability of your colleagues.

Regarding your Open day I have blocked provisionally the date in my agenda
and I have already asked the colleagues from FI-WARE about their
availability so that we can have several options and you choose the most
suitable one depending on the content you want us to provide.

Best regards, Nuria

Hi Nuria,

I will check with ESB and EON. Prof. Monti, the technical manager of
FINESCE might also be able to do it.

If you can find a FI-CORE person for our Open day in June, it would be
great.

Kind regards,

Fiona.

Thank you for your answer Fiona.

It is a pity that you cannot come, since the event will count on very high
level representatives of the EC. Mario Campolargo, Villasante and Peter
asked us to invite specifically Zoran Stancic (Deputy Director General) and
Carl-Christian Buhr, from the Cabinet of Vice-President Neelie Kroes.

I immediately through you would be great speaker for the event, following a
business rational for an audience that will not be so much interested in the
technology, but in the opportunities and possibilities provided by it.

In this context, let me ask you if you see the possibility of having high
level person from FINESCE that can fit into this environment (maybe someone
from an utility company
if I remember well that was the case in the opening
of ECFI1
).

Regarding the FINESCE Open Day in Aachen I will check if that is feasible.
June is a bit complicated because some meetings have not been fixed yet and
my agenda is a bit uncertain at this stage (even the EC is organizing
something for June in Athens and we do not have the date yet!!).

I will block it provisionally and will circulate it within FI-WARE to check
if there are several potential speakers. What will be the audience?

Best regards and thanks in advance,

Nuria

Hi Nuria,

I would be happy to do it but I am an evaluator in the Big Data call again
this year so I am tied up that week and can’t take this one on.

I was anyway going to ask you if you could help with a speaker on Fi-WARE in
the morning for our FINESCE Open Day in Aachen on 12th June. It is now only
1 hour and 8 minutes by high speed train from Brussels to Aachen so I
thought you might be able to come.

The draft agenda is attached. The location is in the university not far
from the city centre.

Kind regards,

Fiona.

Hi Fiona,

Did you have the chance to see my e-mail?

Would you be available as speaker for the event with the Chambers of
Commerce and Committee of the Regions?

Best regards and if you take a break for Easter, enjoy your time and relax.
See you soon,

Nuria

Dear Fiona,

I am contacting you because FI-WARE and specifically the Chamber of Commerce
that is partner in our consortium is organizing a politically and
industrially-relevant event for the 17th of June and we would like to invite
you as speaker to that event.

The main objective is to create awareness about the importance of the Future
Internet and the benefits offered by the FI-WARE and FI PPP technologies to
companies and Regional and Local Administrations.

The target audience will be representatives from the European Chambers of
Commerce as well as representatives from the European Committee of the
Regions. We count on 50-70 people for this and we expect that this
first-hand information will have an important impact for future steps in
different regions of the EU. It is also complementary to some of the
activities going on with Member States. Besides the main target audience we
will also count on representatives from the EC as well as a relevant keynote
speaker in the Internet domain.

The event will be from 9:00 to 13:00 and we would expect from you a
presentation of 15 minutes where you illustrate the potential of FI PPP
technologies to create business value. Of course, since we want to promote
FI-WARE we would like that you emphasize your speech on solutions that
combine the work of FI-WARE with that of FINESCE. This will be a test to
check how understandable this value is, because in fact we do not want to
refer almost at all to jargon of European projects (including WP, GE, SE
).
The audience will not be acknowledgeable on these things. We will simply
have to explain the value to them assuming that they do not understand the
underlying technology.

The location will be: Committee of the Regions (Rue Belliard, 99-101,
Brussels).

If you confirm your availability for that date and your willingness to
participate you will be directly contacted by the Chamber of Commerce to
provide you with a formal invitation as well as further guidance for the
event preparation.

We hope you can make it. Thanks in advance and let me know your views on
this. Best regards,
