[Fiware-ecosystem] Smart City Expo World Congress 2018 Call for Speakers!

The 2018 edition of the world's leading event for Cities, Smart City Expo
World Congress <http://www.smartcityexpo.com/en/>, will be taking place
from 13th to 15th November and YOU could be a speaker! This year, FIWARE
will be a Global Sponsor with a 120 m2 stand. The event has launched a Call
for Speakers <http://bit.ly/2FMqjD9>, which could be a fantastic
opportunity for your to present your solutions! Though the committee will
base its selections on the proposals submitted, we believe FIWARE could be
a great enhancer to be selected. As you're part of a market of
interoperable and portable solutions for Smart Cities, we encourage you to
highlight the value of an Open Standard Platform for Smart Cities as an
enhancer to empower companies, cities and citizens to create a bigger
market of smart solutions.
Open Platform Models encourage interaction, match application builders with
data providers, and facilitate new economic opportunity. Helping these app
makers and businesses to consume the data hosted on their platform will
hereby play a key role in successfully enabling new economic growth. Cities
must therefore encourage entrepreneurs to create innovative services and
make use of data sources to enable this economy of data to emerge. After
all, what makes a city 'smart' is its use of standards and common
frameworks to allow businesses and initiatives to run in a number of cities
in different countries.
