Good news! The Smart City Expo World Congress
<http://www.smartcityexpo.com/en/> (13-15 November) Call for Speakers
deadline has been* extended until April 4th*!

During this year's edition, FIWARE will be a Global Sponsor with a 120 m2
stand.

The Call for Speakers <http://bit.ly/2FMqjD9> could be an amazing
opportunity to present your solutions. Though speakers will of course be
selected based on the quality of their proposals, we believe FIWARE could
be a great enhancer to be selected. You're a part of a market of
interoperable and portable Smart City solutions, and we would therefore
encourage you to highlight the value of an Open Standard Platform for Smart
Cities as a means to empower companies, cities and citizens to create a
bigger market of Smart Solutions.
Open Platform Models encourage interaction, match application builders with
data providers, and facilitate new economic opportunities. Helping app
makers and businesses to consume the data hosted on their platforms will
hereby play a key role in successfully enabling new economic growth. Cities
must therefore encourage entrepreneurs to create innovative services and
make use of data sources to enable this economy of data to emerge. After
all, what makes a city 'smart' is its use of standards and common
frameworks to allow businesses and initiatives to run in a number of cities
in different countries.
