I just did that. I compressed the heck out of it with Handbrake. Now I
have 5 FPS (which is quite adequate for a slideshow with no animations; I
would have reduced it to 1 FPS, but there was no setting for that) and 64
kbps AAC audio, which to my ears sounds good enough. (Audio was recorded
not through a U 87 or even a SM58, but the built-in microphone of a
MacBook Pro :-)
