From pieterh at rombit.be Thu Feb 4 19:25:41 2016 From: pieterh at rombit.be (Pieter Helsen) Date: Thu, 04 Feb 2016 18:25:41 +0000 Subject: [Fiware-fic3-coaching] Minze - FiWare issue Message-ID: Hi, My company is currently working on the mobile application for Minze Health. We are using FiWare as the backend platform, while the app itself will be written in Swift (iOS). I got hold of this email address through Jiri, Minze's founder, as I was told they are participating in a FiWare accelerator-type program. We had some initial problems with authorisation, but we managed to overcome those, only to stumble onto a more critical problem. We have logged the issue here: https://github.com/telefonicaid/fiware-orion/issues/1764 In a nutshell, the problem entails that we are unable to store data when a user's email address is too long. Would it be possible for you to have a look at this problem, as we are on a tight deadline. Should you require some more information about the problem, feel free to contact me back. I've added our developers in CC, as well as Josef (CTO at Minze) and Jiri. Thanks for your help in this matter and we hope to hear back from you soon. We are having troubles learning how to use the CEP GE. We managed to install and run the server where all the examples are, but don?t know how to make them work. I try to explain myself: We see the definitions and attributes of events, contexts, producers, consumers, etc. but then we cannot figure out how to interact with these entities to build an example. Are they linked to any objects in the real world producing information? If so, how are we supposed to read that information so events can be identified? After that we'll need to connect our system producing information to the CEP for creating and our own events, producers and consumers. We checked the documentation available online and the webinar (https://edu.fiware.org/mod/scorm/view.php?id=207) but couldn?t figure out how to make things work Any hints on how to proceed? Thanks a lot. Kind regards, Sara -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I?m Iv?n, from Encore Lab, one of the FI-C3 startups. We?re having trouble with the CEP generic enabler. Right now our devices send all its data to the ORION platform, and the ORION redirects the submitted data to the CEP using some subscriptions. Then we have created a new project in CEP in order to try to detect patterns for our seizure detection system. But at this step we are having some issues to configure the CEP tool, which we don?t know if it?s receiving the events properly or if the rules we?ve configured are not correct. In order to see what?s working it would be useful to see the CEP?s inner status. Is there any tool that allow us to debug the CEP application, or at least see if it is receiving and processing the events with no errors and which rules are being applied? Another question: Is there any more information to read about CEP and its connection to ORION? Maybe some examples where it?s showed the connection between them can be useful for us. We have seen some videos but its explanations are not enough We?re really having lots of issues and errors while configuring the CEP. Thank you so much. Kind regards, -- Iv?n P?rez Encore Lab, S.L. We started with the POI Data Provider GE, on which we have the following questions: - The enabler uses two separate databases; a (structured) PostGIS database on the Generic POI server to do spatial search of location points, and a (unstructured) database (e.g., MongoDB) on the business-specific POI server to store extra business-specific POI info. As the choice for two databases means that you need to support two technologies, we were wondering about the rationale for this choice? MongoDB namely also provides geospatial query operators (using GeoJSON), and is thus similar in functionality as PostGIS ( https://docs.mongodb.org/v3.0/reference/operator/query-geospatial/). Does PostGIS provide distinguishing features which could be interesting to explore in our context, e.g. the actual detection of POIs, faster lookups, ...? - The documentation of the POI Data Provider suggests to install the Pecl_HTTP module voor PHP 5. However, the most recent version of this module only runs with PHP7. We thus see two options: either upgrading to PHP7 (our preferred option), or install a lower version of the module (e.g., 2.1.1). Does a choice for one of these options impact the functionality of the enabler? - The file 'example_poi_2_fw_relationships.json? in the 'install_scripts/test_data/? folder is missing on the Git repository of the enabler, which results in an error. In the commit history, we found an earlier version of that file, with which we can successfully install the module, although we were wondering if any more recent updates/fixes to this file were made that were not recorded in the Git repository? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Best regards, Mathias -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... MongoDB namely also provides geospatial query operators (using GeoJSON), and is thus similar in functionality as PostGIS (https://docs.mongodb.org/v3.0/reference/operator/query-geospatial/). Does PostGIS provide distinguishing features which could be interesting to explore in our context, e.g. the actual detection of POIs, faster lookups, ...? * The documentation of the POI Data Provider suggests to install the Pecl_HTTP module voor PHP 5. However, the most recent version of this module only runs with PHP7. We thus see two options: either upgrading to PHP7 (our preferred option), or install a lower version of the module (e.g., 2.1.1). Does a choice for one of these options impact the functionality of the enabler? * The file 'example_poi_2_fw_relationships.json? in the 'install_scripts/test_data/? folder is missing on the Git repository of the enabler, which results in an error.
