[Fiware-ge-owners] FIWARE Release 8.4 (Draft)

Here is the draft release note for the FIWARE Release 8.4 next week. Please
check that the correct version has been referenced and double tag that hash
as FIWARE_8.4.

Since several context brokers are due to make a release in the near future,
I'd like to hold off
until those changes have been completed

This FIWARE release consists of the following:

Status of Support for NGSI-LD

The FIWARE Catalogue contains three context brokers which support the NGSI-LD
specification

   - Orion-LD, Scorpio, Stellio

For this release, many Generic Enablers have incorporated updates, so they
now fully support interactions with the NGSI-LD interface:

   - Cosmos Flink, Cosmos Spark, QuantumLeap, IoT Agent Node Library, IoT
   Agent for JSON, IoT Agent for SigFox,
   IoT Agent for Ultralight, IoT Agent for LightweightM2M, IoT Agent for
   ISOXML, Oliot, Fogflow, Idra, Canis Major

Some data persistence components have more limited NGSI-LD support, where
not all data sinks are equally supported

   - Cygnus, Draco

Some components (such as Security components) do not interact with NGSI
directly, and therefore are also full compatible with NGSI-LD

   - Authzforce, API Umbrella, Keyrock, PEP Proxy, Open-Vidu, Kurento,
   Domibus, Fast DDS, Micro XRCE DDS, TRUE Connector, Steelskin PEP, Keypass,
   Keystone SCIM, Keystone SPASSWORD

NGSI-LD Context Broker Feature Comparison

The NGSI-LD Specification is regularly updated published by ETSI. The
latest specification is version 1.6.1

was published in *September 2022*. An Excel file detailing the
compatibility of the released version of each context broker (Orion-LD,
