Dear Ulrich, Firstly, apologies for the informal nature of this contact; we are preparing to make an IHI submission on a synthetic data project<https://www.ihi.europa.eu/sites/default/files/uploads/Documents/Calls/FutureTopics/DraftTopic_SyntheticData_June2023.pdf> which will be announced in July and provides a minimum IHI contribution of €10M+ in funding -so certainly potential to develop a significant pan-European project of scale. In short, we have established a number consortium partners to support a proposal and seeking more. Specifically, the focus is to generate synthetic datasets that retains most of the statistical qualities and information richness of the original real world data sets, while fully protecting the privacy of individuals. This will inevitably make healthcare data in its synthetic form more readily accessible to industry to enhance the pace of innovation. The funding call also targets advanced analytics/artificial intelligence tools supporting health research and innovation resulting in a) better clinical decision support for increased accuracy of diagnosis and efficacy of treatment, b) faster prototyping and shorter times to market of personalised health interventions, c) better evidence of the added value from new digital health and AI tools, including reduced risk of bias due to improved methodologies. We would welcome your company’s involvement and happy to discuss further, Many thanks for considering the matter, Best wishes, Frank Mangan, Business Manager, Trinity Translational Medicine Institute, Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, St. James’s Hospital, Dublin 8, Ireland.
