This year’s program was made possible by the invaluable contributions of over 170 judges, experts, and partners who played a crucial role in the selection process from private and public sector. Circular Economy and sustainability were at the forefront of the decision-making process - with 50% of the final companies engaged in them, compared to 45% in 2023. Next to that, the top trends in technologies were AI and Cybersecurity. Solutions range from seaweed-based food packaging and waste stream upcycling to cutting-edge fungi fermentation proteins, as well as medical data management, next-gen waste biomass processing, synthetic data, and data storage innovations. We proudly welcome 41 scaleups from 9 countries, including Germany, the USA, the UK, Sweden, The Netherlands, and France. These companies are eager to engage in innovative and sustainable collaborations with our partners and will be joining us in Switzerland as we kick-off the Opening Week on September 9th. The Opening Ceremony 2024 will take place on September 10th and will consist of a warm welcome from Kickstart, engaging speakers, and, of course, pitches from our 2024 cohort.
