[Fiware-gold-members] FIWARE Goldmember- Votiing

Dear fellow Gold Members, 

it is decision time for FIWARE in the coming week we will vote for the Gold
Member representatives in the Board of Directors (BoD). 

There are 10 explicitly stated jobs. which are covered by the BoDs, and to
highlight some important ones:

-           observe the activities of the Board of Officers, observes
strategy, financial stability, policy making and marketing. 

-          Select, appoint and support the Board of Officers and review the
CEO’s work

-          Make changes to the bylaws. 

The new strategy has been presented in several town hall meetings by the new
CEO Andrea Battaglia. Parts of this strategy require changes to the bylaws,
a topic which has been gathered some attention by several members. 

It is also up to the new Board to approve the Board of Officers in its first
meeting, with at least two positions vacant, this decision will influence
the Foundation in the long term. 

Being an international organization with European roots the Board of
Directors should also include many nationalities to reflect this aspiration.


FIWARE Foundation today is relying on funded projects, as most of our
activities are research projects. Less the 30% of income is coming from
membership fees. We need to grow at the paying membership level to become
sustainable. Other organizations are copying us, approaching policy makers
with similar topics and catching their attention as something new. We need
the FIWARE 2.0 approach. 

So please take this election seriously and sent a strong message to Andrea
Battaglia supporting his view of creating the FIWARE 2.0. Make this election
strong, support your representative and give him your vote for a loud voice
in the BoD.
