As discussed last week, yesterday the partners of the envisaged consortium have *finally decided NOT to apply to the related call*. The main reason is that we understood that a more competitive consortium has been set up by more relevant organisations (like OASC, Eurocities ENoLL, ...). The analysis is that it's better invest our efforts in the next wave of EU calls regarding the challenges linked to data spaces and smart cities & communities. Of course, if other FIWARE iHubs still want to engage an effort in an application to this call, DIH Faubourg Numérique can provide some insights. However, from FIWARE iHubs network perspective, I think it would be interesting to keep our common investment in setting up collaboration processes to reach a next level maturity in our FIWARE iHubs network (BTW, that's the main topic I'll try to adress during the iHubs session of Smart Fest <https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6888929035787739138/>) and other "meta-networks" like EDIH, DSBA hubs,.... My opinion is that to reach the next level maturity, we should build structured / transparent / fair mutualized means or methodologies managed and animated by volunteer FIWARE iHubs (collaboration governance) , allowing each local iHub to better serve the local stakeholders. For the moment it's only a concept but we could leverage the incentive effect of the EU calls to engage this kind of joint efforts not only to prepare competitive applications to the next calls waves, but also to enable new potential value from the global networks in order to optimize the impact on our local ecosystems. I think it could a strategic topic/discussion for one next FIWARE-iHubs MSC Meeting if Gonzalo and Ali agree ?
