[Fiware-lab-federation-nodes] Migration Plan After Open Call Results

Dear all,
as further clarification about the conditions that determine when a FIWARE Lab node will be disconnected, I remind you that the following are the rules:

1) When a node not comply with the established SLAs on regular basis. In other words, when a node exhibit a bad performance (bad karma) based on results of monitoring.

2) When a node announced that discontinue the operations by own choice.

If none of the above two conditions apply, there is no reason to discontinue a node.

Kind regards,
Alfonso

Dear Crete, partners,
of course my email is NOT that FIWARE Lab nodes that have not been funded have to shut down!

The email aims to collect information about your intention and how to organize the migration ONLY for those of you who cannot continue stay with us.

If you (Crete) can continue with us, you are welcome, it is a pleasure to work with you and you will continue to receive technical support from FIWARE Lab even in the future!

For any other doubts don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,
Alfonso

Dear Alfonso, partners,

Indeed we received the results of the Open Call and CRETE node will not be funded. Despite the
frustration that our effort and dedication to FIWARE Lab initiative are not appreciated as we would like
(notice that CRETE node has received no funding from FIWARE Lab or FIPPP and has invested over
70Keuros from own resources to infrastructure during the last 1.5 years),
our intention is to stay connected and continue our offerings to FIWARE Lab user and tenants
(including access to the FI-STAR platform to accelerators of phase 3 of FI-PPP).

I hope the meaning of your e-mail is NOT that FIWARE Lab nodes that have not been funded should
shut-down after migration of their tenants,

Please clarify !

Finally, I hope that nodes like CRETE (than have not been funded) will continue to receive technical
support from FIWARE Lab in the future.

We look forward to hear from you on the above

Best regards

Euripides Petrakis (on behalf of CRETE node)

Dear all,
since most of you have already received results from the Open Call, it’s time to think about migration plan for those nodes who will be discontinued.

Next steps will be:

1) Collect information about intention and amount of resources to migrate [Deadline Monday 15th EOB]

In order to that, please fill in the following document [https://goo.gl/d6RUkK]

Guideline:
- column B: please answer YES/NO and till when.
- column I,J: please answer after the results of the survey we will send next Tuesday (see step 2).

2) Send a survey to Community Users (for those nodes who will be discontinued only) asking if they required support to migrate to another node.

I will share with you the survey Tuesday 16th during our weekly phone call.

3) After step1 and step2, each discontinued node will be in charge to assess the tenants to be migrated and co-ordinate with the destination node for the support to migration.

note:
(I know that some of you are not be able to offer support beyond this month, so if you collect the information before the deadline we can move forward and proceed in advance)

Thanks for the cooperation!
Alfonso
