Recap and next steps after today’s call.

According to list [1], nodes that will not continue with us beyond February 2016, are:

  *   Gent
  *   Karlskrona
  *   PiraeusN

(See list [1] for more details about the amount of resources present on those nodes)

I'm going to send an email to all FIWARE Lab users in order to inform them about the re-organisation of FIWARE Lab and introducing them the survey [2].
This is for transparency toward the consortium and all users.
It basically means, that I'm going to send this email, but Gent, Karlskrona and PiraeusN, will send the email to the specific list of their users as well, in order to have a direct dialog with them and to organize the migration of resources.

The plan is to inform users affected by the migration within tomorrow, give them the time to reply the survey within Monday 22nd at 08:00, then start the migration, and finalize the migration within Friday 26th.

In details:

  1. [02/16] —> Fernando is going to finalize the script for retrieve users list from a specific node.
  2. [02/16 - 02/22] —> Please all of you who have already faced the migration of resources at the end of XIFI, to share useful information/documentation among all other nodes in order to be ready Monday 22nd with the new migration process.
  3. [02/17] —> Thanks to Fernando' script, Gent, Karlskrona and PiraeusN will inform their specific users list about the migration (you would use the email I’m going to send to all FIWARE Lab users as template for yours ). Please cc me.
  4. [02/19] —> Gent, Karlskrona and PiraeusN will send a reminder to their specific users list. Please cc me.
  5. [02/22] —> Double check survey answers [3] and start the migration. (if some users reply before the deadline, you can start earlier...)
  6.  [02/26] —> Finalize the migration.

Thank you in advance and don’t hesitate to contact me for any doubt!

Dear all,
since most of you have already received results from the Open Call, it’s time to think about migration plan for those nodes who will be discontinued.

Next steps will be:

1) Collect information about intention and amount of resources to migrate [Deadline Monday 15th EOB]

In order to that, please fill in the following document [https://goo.gl/d6RUkK]

Guideline:
- column B: please answer YES/NO and till when.
- column I,J: please answer after the results of the survey we will send next Tuesday (see step 2).

2) Send a survey to Community Users (for those nodes who will be discontinued only) asking if they required support to migrate to another node.

I will share with you the survey Tuesday 16th during our weekly phone call.

3) After step1 and step2, each discontinued node will be in charge to assess the tenants to be migrated and co-ordinate with the destination node for the support to migration.

note:
(I know that some of you are not be able to offer support beyond this month, so if you collect the information before the deadline we can move forward and proceed in advance)

Thanks for the cooperation!
Alfonso
