Hi all,
Can anyone help me to solve this error in the step 4. "Configure the component using monasca-setup" of the Monasca agent configuration?
After running this command:
monasca-setup \
--username=ceilometer-userlannion \
--password=ceilometer-passlannion\
--project_name=service \
--keystone_url=http://cloud.lab.fiware.org:4731/v2 \
--monasca_url=http://130.206.112.3:8070/v2.0 \
--dimensions=region:Lannion3
I get this error:
"pkg_resources.ContextualVersionConflict: (positional 1.1.21-FIWARE (/opt/monasca/lib/python2.7/site-packages), Requirement.parse('positional>=1.0.1'), set(['python-keystoneclient']))
...
ERROR: The service did not startup correctly see /var/log/monasca/agent"

I'm afraid you're getting me wrong:
- Álvaro would be responsible for granting roles to users in Keystone (by the way, @Álvaro: you could proactively grant "monasca_user" role to all ceilometer-* users, as suggested by Simon from ZurichS)
- Ceilometer configuration should be (it's supposed to have been) carried out by Infrastructure Owners.

AFAIK we didn't received the configuration of Ceilometer. The initial request was just to install Ceilometer.
Alvaro, Can you give us any guidance concerning the configuration of Ceilometer?

Hi, Cristian.
FIWARE Monitoring is intended to extend a pre-existing Ceilometer installation, so we assume it has been configured before.
WRT the role, maybe we should clarify the documentation: means you should ask IdM administrator (Álvaro Alonso in this case) to grant the "monasca_user" role to your Ceilometer user. Therefore, it's all about Keystone authorization and requires no change in your configuration files.

Hi all,
I started this week to install the new monitoring system on our new node Lannion3.
We have Ceilometer installed in HA mode and we followed the instructions from Git and from mail sent before.
I have some questions concerning this configuration:
1. Ceilometer needs to be configured before (keystone authentication our other things)?
2. In the documentation I found a this line "Please make sure the user specified under [service_credentials] section of the same file has monasca_user role added."
I don't understand at which "monasca_user role" is referring, cause in [service_credentials] I found just ceilometer username in /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf on the controllers and compute nodes.

Just to clarify:
In the default installation by Fuel, you will find a "metering_connection" commented entry in the [database] section when editing "ceilometer.conf" for the first time.
What we meant is that IO's shall uncomment such line and include the Monasca URL described in the documentation.

- The MONASCA_API endpoint needed when configuring Monasca components is 130.206.112.3:8070
- Attribute "metering_connection" should appear commented in the "[database]" section of your Ceilometer main configuration file.
- Please remember to get latest versions of the two configuration files for Monasca-Ceilometer plugin available here:
