Dear Mr. Simmons,

Although you may want to take a look at the work in "Developer Community and Tools<http://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Developer_Community_and_Tools>", a general answer to such a general question is that the GEs specify APIs (i.e interfaces) so this is not bound to a particular programming language. As long as you are compliant with the Open Specs, it will be ok.
