[Fiware-lab-help] [Fiware-testbed-help] Request for access to IOT BE GE

Dear Jonathan,

Let us rollback this a bit :)

What we told you was assuming that you are a member of the PPP Programme (the Programme of the European Commission that sponsors FI-WARE). The Testbed environment and the UCs (Use Case Projects) are internal to the PPP Programme. The Testbed environment has more strict access control mechanisms and we filter by IP address but this is not done in the FI-LAB environment.

>From your question we infer that you are not involved in the PPP, as we were assuming. So all what we were answering in the previous message does not apply to you. Sorry for this, there are so many people sending messages both from inside and outside the PPP that we sometimes get a bit confused!

Carlos Ralli, now in CC, will try to provide a satisfactory answer to your initial questions as soon as he can get a couple of spare minutes for this. He's telling me that he will make a point of reacting, possibly today.

Thanks for your understanding,

Miguel

Hi

Firstly thanks for your response but before we go further wan you tell me what is a UC and what is the difference between IDAS and FI-LAB?

If I have to provide an IP address then I think I should implement also my own FI-WARE IoT Gateway at a fixed location and give this IP address. Can you tell me where there is a reference implementation of a "FI-WARE IoT Gateway" so that I can do that. In my investigation I want to connect several sensors like in a "smart city" so they will all have different ip addresses. This is why I think I should implement a "FI-WARE IoT Gateway".

As an alternative you can also give me access via the fi-forge to the IOT project and then I can download a nightly build and test it myself on my own equipment. This is what I have done with other FI-WARE GEs already.

Hi

First of all, if you are a UC you will need to use the IDAS instance and not the FI-LAB one. And the right contact mainling list is fiware-testbed-help at lists.fi-ware.eu<mailto:fiware-testbed-help at lists.fi-ware.eu>.

Then, the testbed instances is behind a firewall. If you want to access to that endpoint you need to provide us your public IP so that we can include in the firewall.

Henar

Asunto: [Fiware-lab-help] Request for access to IOT BE GE

Hi,

I am working with the Amsterdam Economic Board on the FI-PPP and would like access to the Global Instance referred to below.

    Service Endpoint (URL):
    http://eidas2.lab.fi-ware.eu:8076<http://eidas2.lab.fi-ware.eu:8076>

I need it in order to perform important research into the actual capabilities of the IOT and Smarty city capabilities of the FI platfom.

I also co-organize the Amsterdam Internet of things meetup group and we want to research it together at our next meeting.

I already emailed Carlos several times before requesting access before but got no response.

Even better would be the ability to download and install it as an open source package, just like other parts of FI-WARE. but I see that this software is still not downloadable yet. Can you also tell me when this will be available for download.

I am at the smart city expo right now and got your email address from Margarita Tremblay.

Thanks in advance

Jonathan Carter
