Hello, In the dashboard, before creating any Virtual Machine, you should have created a Key-Pair. It doesn't matter whether you generate your VM in the dashboard or if you create it with ssh-keygen command; In general it is much more easy if you create it through the dashboard. You can create the Key-pair in the "Access & Security" --> Create Keypair. As a result, you'll download a private key you'll use to access your virtual machines. I.e. if you name your keypair as "mynewkey", you'll download a file named "mynewkey.pem" After that, You'll need to create at least one security group and add some rules to it. These rules will be applied in the OpenStack firewall. The most common rules you'll need are: * tcp from port 22 - to port 22 your_network/24 This one is to allow ssh * tcp from port 80 - to port 80 <what_ever> This one is to allow http * tcp from port 443 - to port 443 <what_ever> This one is to allow https * icmp from port -1 to port -1 <what-ever> This one is to allow ping Now, every time you create a new VM, you'll need to do 2 simple step: -- Step 1: Launch an instance => Go to images & snapshots and press on "launch". You'll be asked for a "Server name", a flavor, and one or more security groups. Be sure you select all the security group(s) you need. -- Step 2: If you need a public IP (by default all the IPs will be private), you can "Allocate a floating IP" to the project in the "Access & Security" link and assign that new IP to your new created server with the button "Associate IP". Once you've done this, you'll be able to access your virtual machine. Hope this help, Best regards, José Ignacio.
