Yes, we are interested in this functionality.

 

In our case we would like to send to the context broker, the original
timestamp registered in the data source. Imagine that we have a problem in
the communications and we can’t send the information to the context broker.
So there will be some delay in the communication. In our api we continue
buffering data till the moment the communication will be reestablished. From
that moment, we would like to send the data with the original timestamp of
the reading and not with the timestamp of the update in the context broker.

Dear Josep,

The current version of Orion Context Broker (0.10.1) already stores creation
and modification timestamps for entities and attributes in its internal
database (see
https://forge.fi-ware.org/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Publish/Su
bscribe_Broker_-_Orion_Context_Broker_-_Installation_and_Administration_Guid
e#entities_collection).

However, this information (which main purpose is to be used in some DB
management scripts, e.g. the /usr/share/contextBroker/lastest-updates.py
script that comes with the RPM) is not currently exposed in the NGSI API. We
are considering to include it as metadata (NGSI allows to attach metadata to
attributes) in a future version.

What do you think? Are you interested in such functionality? It is important
for us to know your opinion, as we take into account the feedback from our
users to define the future roadmap of our components.
