Right before leaving on holidays I made a point of writing an e-mail explaining that there was a blocker and I did not feel that I could change the lists yet. Of course the internal L1 list is useful, this is why have always wanted to keep fiware-lab at lists.fi-ware.org<mailto:fiware-lab at lists.fi-ware.org>, that covers this niche. There was a consensus on this from the very start. From now on we can start using fiware-lab at lists.fi-ware.org<mailto:fiware-lab at lists.fi-ware.org> and deprecate level1-helpdesk at fi-xifi.eu<mailto:level1-helpdesk at fi-xifi.eu>. I think it is a reasonable that you created a contingency solution if needed at the moment but now we have the final one in place.
I have added all the people you mention to the 2 lists (thanks for that). Manuel and I will keep them in synch all the time. The only difference in terms of subscribers is that the fiware-lab-help one has the JIRA mailbox to capture new tickets. In summary:

Used for internal communication between us. It does not generate tickets. It replaces level1-helpdesk at fi-xifi.eu<mailto:level1-helpdesk at fi-xifi.eu>

Used as mailbox for incoming requests from users. Any messages generate either new tickets or comments if they refer to a pre-existant ticket.

in answer to your question I want to inform you that private networks cannot be added in FIWARE-Lab. Any node being added in the Lab is required to install open stack and to offer a number of public IP addresses. Private addresses are however not routable.
Nodes operating behind a NATed and dynamically provisioned IP (as most operators do today) are also not permitted as they do not have a stable and routable IP address.
