Dear all,

as Juanjo has previously reported, TM Forum favours usage of FIWARE for SmartCity.

Today at 17:00 CET was the kickoff teleconf for starting a new work stream in TM Forum,
" Smart City as a Platform & Data Economy" https://www.tmforum.org/smart-city-forum/

It was announced in their press release on November 25, 2016, specifically referencing FIWARE:
" The stream will also investigate the practical aspects of federating smart city platforms using the smallest set of
common principles and assets, building on the most commonly adopted digital partnering APIs in the industry
(developed within TM Forum) and using FIWARE as a reference implementation."

About 60 people attended the call, including city representatives from Bristol, Milton Keynes, NYC.
The TMF plan seems to be, to set up an ecosystem and get some "showcases" built around a common
set of requirements and identify existing APIs and recommend them. In our terms, they will be doing
use cases, architectures, and maybe data model recommendations. They plan to finish the work in May 2017,
in time for their annual event in Nice!

AFAIK there was nobody present from FIWARE, and it was not mentioned. There was however a reference to
OASC. Therefore I believe we should definitely have a spokesperson from our CIM team at the next call, which
probably will be on 26.12.2016 at 17:00 (not a misprint and not a joke).

best wishes
Lindsay
