Dear Juanjo

Good to see progresses on that.

Last week, I met Georgios Karagiannis from Huawei. He would be interested in supporting this ISG. He may already have contacted Carlos on that. Did he ?

This could be fine for me as long as it does not delay the submission, as demonstrating a larger interest in relation to these activities. If you agree, I will send him the ToR asking him to confirm y tomorrow at the latest Huawei support, so he can be included before submission. Otherwise, he would be welcomed to join at a later stage. What is the position of the group on that ?

Have a nice day
Franck

Dear all,

Please find enclosed a draft that I would consider ready for submission to ETSI.

Compared to the version previously circulated, I have added some changes on section 3.1 describing the scope of activities in order to capture some points as per requests by ETSI in previous conversations:

  * Distinguishing between the the Context Information Management API specification to be produced as result of the ISG and the FIWARE NGSI API specification that will be taken as starting point for the specification.
  * Clarifying relationship between FIWARE NGSI API specifications and OMA NGSI interface specifications, mentioning the eventual contribution back to OMA (not mandatory)
  * Clarifying that development of an open source reference implementation of both the API and the data publication platform (e.g., CKAN) is not subject "per se" of the work of this ISG but just an instrument to follow an implementation-driven approach. Multiple alternative implementations (open source or not) will be allowed/feasible.

We have discussed these issues multiple times and I believe we are very much on the same page so I don't foresee any issue but please double-check.

I understand that there were no comments on changes we incorporated in the last version regarding clarification on the relationship betwee the scope of our work and that in OneM2M (section 5). This was the more delicate point.

I double-check the issue raised by Cathy regarding payment of fees to attend meetings by observers and non-members of ETSI and I found that the text was there and hadn't been deleted! Please check sections 3.3 "Dues" and 3.6.1 "Participation in the work of the Industry Specification Group (clarification of TWP 3.4)". I have just proposed a fee of 100€ (before specified as "XXX").

I have also added the reference to non-members of ETSI supporting the creation of this ETSI ISG. This was suggested by ETSI. If you know about any other entity we may add, please let me know. I understand that Futures Cities Catapult UK is ETSI member and would endorse the creation of the ETSI ISG as well as iMinds

Last but not least, ETSI proposed that the EC participates in the ETSI ISG as councilor. I will ask ETSI to add the wording in the proper section for this purpose, since I don't know where they will expect to see it in the document. This should make things easier.

I would like to submit the document tomorrow EoB at the latest. Therefore, please send your comments before tomorrow noon. Please try to propose any comment through concrete change requests using the changes tracking mechanism of MS Word.
  Best regards,

-- Juanjo
