I went through every item and found none worth arguing about. But if anyone wants something fixed, please speak up ! If I hear no objections from anyone, I will at 15:00 today tell Hermann "please go ahead and put the ISG CIM on the BoD agenda for Thursday!" I am glad we get this chance ;-) for information, below are some minor comments about the "strongest" changes he made. Cheers Lindsay (1) LF: Inserted at the end of Phase 1 by Hermann: "Liaisons to major organizations will be established to facilitate a coordinated standardization approach. Towards the end of Phase 1, joint workshops with ETSI TC SmartM2M and possibly other organizations will be organized to allow complementarity of specifications." LF: well the workshop is planned more in the middle of Phase 1, not the end, and only one of them, but it is ok to write the above. (2) LF: someone wrote a comment on our paragraph below: <not this is not technical scope – it is a legal statement – more close to IPR text in the AGREEMENT> and marked it as italic, but then deleted the comment: Group Specifications developed within the ETSI ISG CIM will be public and subject to ETSI IPR policy. In order to maximize the acceptance of the specifications produced, and ease collaboration with open source initiatives supporting the specifications, ETSI ISG CIM Members and Participants agree to declare at the time of making a contribution if they believe that implementing the contribution as a mandatory feature would necessarily infringe on a granted patent or filed patent application of their company. The ISG CIM would then take an informed decision whether to accept the contribution. LF: Our text is unchanged, but obviously ETSI may still later ask for a modification. Let us wait and see. (3) Meeting participation fees for _participants_ (ie non-ETSI) is continued at €200 per day per person, or €700 for a (longer) meeting. The fee is now set solely by the ETSI Director General. LF: Note that we are _not_ forced to meet at ETSI, so we may later consider some even cheaper hosting if we want. ________________________________________ Dr. Lindsay Frost, Chief Standardization Eng. frost at neclab.eu<mailto:frost at neclab.eu> Mobile +49.163.275.1734 NEC Laboratories Europe, Kurfürsten-Anlage 36, D-69115 Heidelberg, Germany. Don’t be shocked. Most changes are editorial. Please have a look in particular on 3.6.1 about participation fees. This part had to be aligned with other ISGs. Luis is ready to go for Board consultation if the attached proposal is acceptable to you.
