Let me try to answer some questions. Pablo can supplement since he is responsible for the Epics and was the original author.

Considering EPIC - Maintain Business Models & Elements:

I also don't know what "straight forward" integration means. However, I believe the integration of the BE&BM is mostly an integration/harmonization with the existing Linked-USDL description format and also with the Revenue Sharing Model of Telefonica (here the question is whether the RSS models shouldn't be rather included in the upcoming BE&BM model). The description artifacts should be stored on the FI-Ware Repository. I think no further complex integration is necessary. Pablo should be able to publish the RSS models of their Enablers as well as any other documentation related to the RSS system.

Considering EPIC - Maintain Services Applications Actors:

I think what is meant here is that the BE should contain a number of basic elements ("Actors") in order to describe business models for  the overall lifecycle of the FI-Ware services/apps on top of it. How goods are sold  and the descriptions of "actors" are  part of the business model. However, I agree, the text is a little bit fuzzy.

We are considering to apply for the Fi-Ware open call on Business Models and Business Elements (BM & BE) Definition and Simulation.



We try to comply as closely as possible to the call and as such we still have several open questions.

You will find a list of our questions in the remainder of the mail, as well as in the attached document which also contains a description of our current view on the open call and a link of the questions to their source in the FiWare documentation available .





Considering EPIC - Maintain Business Models & Elements:



     * What is meant with “a straightforward integration with Revenue

       Share System GE”? What will this integration look like in practice?

     * Or is real integration not needed and are we only required to use

       the same “types and values”?

     * Where are the formal descriptions of these types and value to be

       found?

     * Considering the described link with Revenue Share System GE

           o How are the “service/call data records” defined?

           o Where are the “billing systems involved” to be found?

           o The asset explicitly states that there is no API for this,

             how can we integrate with a component that does not offer

             any APIs?

           o There is detailed information of an implementation

             available. Where can this implementation be found?



Considering EPIC - Maintain Services Applications Actors



     * What are the goods sold by FIWARE.Actors/services/applications?

     * Where to find a description of Actors/services/applications?



Considering EPIC - Business Model Simulation



     * Who could provide more information on the “cloud computing (IaaS,

       PaaS, SaaS), priority communication, etc” services for which

       business models are to be defined? Probably this is also

       implemented somewhere in FIWARE? What does it look like?



In the general scope of the project



     * Is there a visual representation available of the links between

       all EPICS within FI-WARE and definitely within the technical

       chapter on Applications/Services Ecosystem and Delivery Framework

       in FI-WARE

     * How do the EPICS of this open call link to other EPICS in this

       Technical Chapter? E.g. some EPICS sound to be familiar (e.g

       MarketPlace) but are not explicitly mentioned in the open call epics..

     * Within FI-WARE, for which EPICS there is an implementation

       available? Where to find this implementation? What has already

       been implemented and what is ongoing?

     * If any APIs are not available at the moment, how to use them?

     * How is a reference architecture defined? If a reference

       architecture is to be delivered as a part of the project

       (addressed in this open call), what can it look like?

     * What is the impact of the FRAND license on the specifications and

       on our implementation?
