Hello,

I have an idea that can be used to end world hunger in 1-2 years.

If 1 billion people donate each $0.1 per day $100 million will be added to a global fund every day.

In the world there are 21,000 people who die of hunger each day. This happens because almost 1 billion people live on less than $1.25 per day.

If a law would be passed that required at least the richest 1 billion people to donate $0.1 per day to a global fund this would allow one to give $1 per day to each one of the poorest 100 million people. This would save the lives of 21,000 people a day. These people could in time get more educated and become lawyers, doctors, engineers, and other professions.

I believe that the country that will be the first one to pass the donation law will set a model for the rest of the world to follow. The people who manage to pass the law will most probably win the Nobel Peace Prize.

A person can't personally do much with $0.1, but can help 21,000 people survive. This also assures everyone on the planet that they won't ever go hungry because there is someone out there who will help them.

The death of almost 8 million people each year from starvation is comparable to how many people died in each year during World War 2.

Religious people will be motivated to make the donation of $0.1 because saving 21,000 lives each day increases by a few times their chances of going to heaven. There is no better thing you can do in a lifetime than to help other people in this way. If killing someone is the greatest sin, saving a life is the holiest thing you can do. It is possible that the people that contribute to such a project to become more happy because helping other people makes people happier in general.

If for no other reasons political leaders could be motivated by the fact that the people they save could in the future be providing cheaper labor in factories from their countries instead of dying.

Solving the world's hunger problem would be the greatest humanitarian achievement in all of human history. This will in time lead to having 1 billion more people that can get more educated, can use the internet and can contribute to the scientific progress of our species.

An evolved species should not allow any one individual to die because something as simple as food is missing, especially when the cost of providing it is extremely small for the rest of the individuals.

Regards,
Ionut
