Hello,

I have an idea that can be used to end world hunger in one to two years.

If one billion people each donate $0.10 per day, $100 million will be added to a global fund every day.

Worldwide, there are 21,000 people who die of hunger each day. This happens because almost one billion people live on less than $1.25 per day.

If a law would be passed that required at least the richest one billion people to donate $0.10 per day to a global fund, there would be $100 million in the global fund each day. From this $100 million, we can give $1 to 100 million people. This would save the lives of 21,000 people a day. These people could, in time, become more educated and become lawyers, doctors, engineers, and other professionals.

I believe that the first country to pass the donation law will set a model for the rest of the world. The people who manage to pass the law will most probably win the Nobel Peace Prize.

A person can't personally do much with $0.10, but one can help 21,000 people survive. This also assures everyone on the planet that they won't ever go hungry because there is someone out there who will help them.

The death of almost eight million people each year from starvation is comparable to how many people died in each year during World War II. The number of people who died during the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was about 200,000 people, which is almost equal to the number of people who die of starvation every 10 days.

Religious people will be motivated to make the donation of $0.10 because saving 21,000 lives each day increases their chances of going to heaven. There is no better thing you can do in a lifetime than to help other people in this way. If killing someone is the greatest sin, saving a life is the holiest thing one can do. It is possible that the people who contribute to such a project become happier because helping other people always makes people happier.

If for no other reason than this, political leaders could be motivated to pass a law because of the fact that the people they save from dying could provide cheap labor for their factories in the future.

Solving the world's hunger problem would be the greatest humanitarian achievement in all of human history. This will, in time, lead to having one billion more people that can become more educated, can use the Internet and can contribute to the scientific progress of our species.

An evolved species should not allow any one individual to die because something as simple as food is missing, especially when the cost of providing it is extremely small for the unaffected individuals.

Regards,
Alexandr
