From jhierro at tid.es Wed Feb 1 08:44:08 2012 From: jhierro at tid.es (Juanjo Hierro) Date: Wed, 01 Feb 2012 08:44:08 +0100 Subject: [Fiware-opencall-middleware] Open Call published, list of current Epics listed Message-ID: <4F28ED48.90700@tid.es> Hi, The first FI-WARE Open Call has already been published. Details can be found at: http://www.fi-ware.eu/open-call/ There are pointers to the dedicated spaces on the Wiki where Epics per topic are published: * Middleware topic: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Common_base_technologies#FI-WARE_Advanced_Middleware * BM&BE topic: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Materializing_Applications/Services_Ecosystem_and_Delivery_Framework_in_FI-WARE#Business_Elements_.26_Business_Models We have announced that a refined version of these Epics may be available on February 21st. You may take this 20 days to elaborate them further, though I believe that the middleware topic is pretty well covered. The BM&BE may require some more additional work. From February 21st on, no further changes should be implemented. I have filled the "Owner contact" field of each Epic with the email address of the dedicated mailing list we created for the corresponding topic. Thus, some external input and even questions may come from the outside. In the first release of FI-WARE, scheduled to be available on the FI-WARE Testbed by end of July 2012, interfaces exported by GEs will not be implemented using the adopted middleware. However, we will consider porting the implementation of some of these interfaces to the adopted middleware for next releases, in order to improve overall performance. Besides, most of the FI-WARE GE interfaces will be specified as RESTful interfaces in the first release, but it could make sense to specify them using the IDL supported by the adopted middleware for future releases. Regarding the FI-WARE Product Vision (High-level Description), contents of the FI-WARE public Wiki are more up to date: http://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/FI-WARE_Product_Vision http://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Main_Page Hope it helps, -- Juanjo ------------- Product Development and Innovation (PDI) - Telefonica Digital website: www.tid.es email: jhierro at tid.es twitter: twitter.com/JuanjoHierro FI-WARE (European Future Internet Core Platform) Chief Architect You can follow FI-WARE at: website: http://www.fi-ware.eu facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/FI-WARE/251366491587242 twitter: http://twitter.com/FIware linkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/groups/FIWARE-4239932 On 10/02/12 10:38, Rios Velasco, Erkuden wrote: Dear Sir/Madam, We are working in a proposal for the open call for the Middleware, and we would like to know more information on how the middleware fits in the overall architecture of the FI-WARE, i.e. in which Chapter and GE it will be included or if it will be a GE itself and with which others will collaborate. >From the call, we understand this is quite an important part of the Core Platform, but we cannot locate where will it fit in the architecture described in "FI-WARE High-Level Description v1.1 11-08-31.doc".
