Dear All,
first of all sorry if this communication came so late, but first of all it was important to discuss some general matters related to FIWARE Lab future.
The meeting was held yesterday, and in the meeting it was approved the general line (that will be presented and discussed in the TSC) that
FIWARE Lab “federation” should be simplified, providing more freedom and control to providers of FIWARE Lab nodes.

The proposal is to keep only central the monitoring, synch of images, and policies. This implies that there won’t be anymore
the requirement for a single keystone (unless nodes prefer to stay connected to Spain keystone for whatever reason). Proposal will be discussed
in the TSC.

Attached you can find the slides that were discussed.

This should constitute an input for the definition of OPS roadmap and future sprints. But as mentioned first the topic has to be discussed in the TSC.

We also add a discussion (sorry if ZHAW - sean was busy - and ATOS - it was not listed in the dow version i had) were not included, about the sprint planning.
You can find attached a slide with few inputs from that discussion. Another point shortly discussed is the simplification of the deployment part, to the only services
we add on top of OpenStack, hence leaving to the operator the selection of which “OpenStack deploy” tool to adopt. This concretely means, FI-deploy may become
a collection of scripts (and/or containers?) deploying only the add ons needed to be part of FIWARE Lab (e.g. Ceilosca agents, Health checks tools, …).

For this sprint planning, the general rule is on maintenance and improvements of current services (or kick-off of approved activities such as the ELK stack support).
More concrete plans will come for the next sprint, following also the result of the discussion in the TSC.

The additional general rule, given that clearly TSC has provided indications in that direction, is the adherence to Vanilla OpenStack as much as possible. This means
that all the services developed should get aligned with the community (in this sense FI-Health is already planning for moving to rally + tempest).

Starting from the discussion and the above input, I will draft a roadmap that we will discuss in the TSC. As soon as I have it, I will share the google doc for your comment.

Meanwhile, action Points for you to speed up the work:
- Please drop my your input to it by the end of the day (I know that is a bit of pressure, but as said with had the sustainability call only yesterday)
- Plan your activities for the current sprint in JIRA as by the guideline above by the end of the day.

For any doubt and question, you can contact me on skype. Should you need to register any additional people, ask them to register themselves here:

Thanks,
Federico
