Dear colleagues, Let me inform you that FI-WARE is finally coming to an end in the preparations of our presence in Smart City Expo next week in Barcelona. Let me summarize a bit the current situation for the sake of coordination and awareness. I highlight in yellow the aspects that could be of your interest and for which I need an urgent reaction from PCC members and WPL/WPA. · Smart City Expo: one of the most important international events around the topic of Smart Cities. Place: Barcelona; Dates: 19-21 November. Further info in http://www.smartcityexpo.com/. · FI-WARE will attend Smart City Expo together with XIFI. We will not promote projects, but commercial brands, since this event has nothing to do with research. It will be an offering for Smart Cities. The main label will be FI-LAB. · FI-WARE/FI-LAB will be visible in Smart City Expo through the following activities o Joint stand of 30 square meters. People from Ogilvy are taking care of decoration and branding and we expect to have high visibility, thanks also to the good location of the stand (I attach the maps for your convenience). o FI-LAB speech in the Conference Program o Additional activities such as possible press conference and presence in mass media (ongoing) · Then, let me call you for your interest in attending this event (we are sorry about the late announcement even if most of you knew about the event already) o Our contract includes 30 passes to the expo (few of them already reserved for Ogilvy people + Juanjo) o We need some people from FI-WARE with good knowledge on the messages to be in the stand and take care of our visitors. We do not have to forget that this is a marketing activity, and therefore, a good analysis of competitors and good marketing to attract potential customers have to be put in place. If a great stand is not accompanied by great people (human resources) to do the work, then, it will be almost useless. o I ask all PCC members, WPL/WPA to send me a list of people interested in attending the expo (not the congress as such; this requires separate tickets, like in Mobile World Congress). Send the list as soon as possible and NOT LATER THAN TOMORROW EOB. o I need name of the person and organization. I will compile all the info and will send that to the organizers.
