R: Minutes and Actions for Robotics GE

I think there are still 2 actions missing:

-          Check the installation script and update it in case of missing parts (more specifically the firos part should be validated for what concern the configuration if needed, because the script I've done takes what I think is needed from the repository and doesn't do any customization)

-          again for firos try to use robotics_msgs instead of firos internal type of messages. As I said in the call and in previous mails the package robotics_msgs is the package used to communicate between firos and rcm_driver, so both have to use it (this is only the implementation I made of what we said and agreed in the open spec): you can find the sources under RCM/src/robotics_msgs (it is a common package so in the license all the partners are inserted and if you prefer we can move from the RCM repository and put directly into robotics)

Dear all,
please find the minutes of the Robotics call of today.
We have few but important Action Points.
Please check them.


Robotics GE Call - 22/09/15


·         Install & Admin Guide : We have a first release of the Inst&Admin Robotics<https://github.com/FIWARE-RoboticsGE/Robotics/blob/master/docs/i_and_a_guide.rst> containing a common installation of the Robotics GE. Actions are:

·         AP0: Anyone check the Guide to commonly agree and improve the Guide (by adding content if needed). The document should contain all the needed information for a complete installation of the Robotics GE

·         AP1: Two missing sections (strictly required) are "Sanity Check procedures" and "Diagnosis Procedure". These mandatory section should provide a simple test (e.g. running a command with some expected result) that is used by the administrator (programmer) to check that the GE installation was successful. These sections contain some small subsection (e.g. to provide typical resource usage). Please refer to section 3.2.2 of the document Guidelines for R4 (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wa15t2dSEucSA1xD7FyOLpP0ymihYYry0mhALV6GsXU/edit?pli=1 )

·         AP2: Add some simple command to install the library/component dependencies (e.g. OpenVPN) and add link to Web Pages for their configuration



·         User&Programmer Guide. A first release of User&Programmer Robotics<https://github.com/FIWARE-RoboticsGE/Robotics/blob/master/docs/u_and_p_guide.rst> is now available. Content of this guide is free (expected example of commands and snippets of code to be used as example of usage of Robotics GE). Actions are:

·         AP3: Anyone check and improve/ add content to the Guide.



·         Images and Dockerization are ongoing . Current actions:

·         AP4: Agreed to prepare Image that contain all the code but without installation of dependencies (e.g. OpenVPN). The Adminstrator/Programmer will refer to the SW Guides (Install & Admin and User&Programmer) to retrieve instructions to complete the installation and to configure the Robotics GE for his/her needs.



·         ReadTheDocs: Guides are available not also at a common page at readTheDocs (https://fiware-robotics.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ ).

·         AP5: Since there is no automatic synchronization between Github and readTheDocs, agreed to edit the Guides in Github only, then to manually import them in ReadTheDocs to avoid misalignment.
