Dear members of the Smart Cities Domain Committee,

We are facing the final countdown for our FIWARE Global Summit which
comes full of content regarding activities linked to Smart Cities!

I'm pretty sure you we will have the opportunity to meet face to face
and discuss about how to make progress in the several activities within
this domain.

In addition to a compelling agenda for Smart Cities during the first
day, October 23rd <https://www.fiware.org/summit/23-october/>, full of
quite interesting panels and keynote speeches, we would like to raise
your attention to the following sections focused on Smart Cities during
the second day, October 24th <https://www.fiware.org/summit/24-october/>:

  * Front-runner Smart Cities workshop, from 10:00 to 12:30, where will
make progress within this important initiative setting up first
working groups working towards definition of common smart data
models in two areas already highlighted as of relevance for our
Community: Water Management and Tourism (smart destination).  More
    info here
    <https://docs.google.com/document/d/119ee4Ut9zYlOcFoMN5Hy23UFt0yAZGdoDGHfJ3Dxg0g/edit?usp=sharing>.
  * Smart Cities: from vision to execution, from 13:30 to to 15:15 where
some of our leading Smart City platform providers will elaborate on
their product offering and talk about their successful stories with
real cities, driving their transformation thanks to FIWARE.
  * CEF Context Broker workshop, where you will be able learn all about
plans of this important program where the FIWARE Context Broker
technology has been selected as Building Block, as well as funding
    opportunities.

Last but not least, I'm glad to share with you the FIWARE Smart
Cities MSC charter
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TAfiStYoki9MLnR-FcCW6f5IL5YBEqF5CPv_qqQR9ZI/edit?usp=sharing>
we have drafted with the help of the MSC temporary co-chairs.   It
arrives a bit until the last minute for approval at the BoD but we hope
it will be included in the agenda for approval.   If it gets approved,
we will initiate the process for election of the official co-chairs of
the MSC.

We will come soon with dates for our next confcall of the MSC
(hopefully already as official MSC :-)

I take the opportunity to thank Albert Seubers, Gianluca Dianese,
Arjen Hof, Giovanni Coppa and Lanfranco Marasso in the role they are
exercising as temporary co-chairs.

   Cheers,

--
