Dear members of the Smart Energy domain,

On behalf of the Mission Support Committee I welcome to this mailing list.

We will be using this means to share with you information and start structuring the work of the community and, this, until the setup of a cooperation space in fully in place.

As a first step in moving forward with our work, we have identified 3 major areas where we should intervene, in support of the FIWARE Community:

a) generate awareness on energy related tools and sharing knowledge;
b) collect and develop a repository or relevant data-models;
c) collect and develop a repository or relevant SW tools and generic enablers.

In order to address these topics, after the initial fuzzy phase, we have established a Core Task Force which will start working on these topics immediately. Should any of you have interest in participating, or should you have suggestions on individual members of the Foundation which could be interested in participating, please feel free to propose them by sharing with then this Infopage so that they can subscribe: https://lists.fiware.org/listinfo/fiware-smart-energy-core-task-force <https://lists.fiware.org/listinfo/fiware-smart-energy-core-task-force>.
The Smart Energy Core Task Force will be working to prepare and organize core set of assets including:

Reference Architecture diagrams and descriptions (baseline can be found in the slides associated to Energy which can be found the Smart Reference Architectures slide deck <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EF4yCXI0ljBumXCSABFOBvAORUgviLMt/view?usp=sharing>)
Description of some base concepts underlying the FIWARE vision (baseline can be found in this recent presentation <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T8n_mV4MhO6PkoaImjfOKmYT80HEi8WK/view?usp=sharing> made to LF Energy):
Materialization of digital twin concept
System of systems approach for integration of systems, breaking information silos
Smart Energy Data Models repository <https://github.com/smart-data-models/SmartEnergy> under the Smart Data Models space created on GitHub <https://github.com/smart-data-models> to be populated by means of translating into JSON/JSON-LD structures compatible with NGSI-LD existing standard data models for the Energy domain
Juanjo Hierro, CTO of the Foundation, will be involved in this Core Task Force to secure proper coordination with the FIWARE Technical Steerging Committee activities, including Tech Roadmap activities as well as activities towards standardization of Smart Data Models.

Anybody is welcome to participate and follow up the discussion by subscribing to the mailing list but they have to bear in mind that the Core Task Force is expected to move fast and agile, committing a significant number of resources and reporting periodically on progress to the larger list (the one for the Domain Committee).

I am looking forward to continue working with you on these topics.

All the best.
