Summary: session cache borked for my user
Severity: Critical
Workflow State: Open

Initial Comment:
dear support,
I have a problem with the mediawiki on this forge:

I don't get a valid edit-token from the media-wiki/forge part.

I can
- log in and log out of the forge
- log out of the wiki
- even change the system&browser I'm working with
- relogin again
- access all of my wikis, that are assigned to me in read mode
- even browse to the "edit" parts and try to change something

But: if I want to save the changes, the error is:
---
Sorry! We could not process your edit due to a loss of session data. Please try again. If it still does not work, try logging out and logging back in.
---

This holds true for all the wikis I have access to.

After a quick search via google, finde the related links down below

They mainly say: check some php-ini settings & restart the httpd

If you would kind do so.

thanks in advacne,

                Thorsten

Assuming you get this error even when you do have a seemingly valid logon session:

Check if /var/lib/php5 is writable and not readable for user and world ( # chmod 733 /var/lib/php5 )
Check to see if your session.save_path value in php.ini is valid and writable to the webserver - PHP configuration.
Check to see if there is enough disk space.
If you are using an extension or apache for authentication, verify you are using the fqdn to access the wiki.

    After making changes restart Apache:

        /etc/init.d/httpd restart

If you use memcached and enable $wgSessionsInMemcached, make sure that memcached is really working.

Message:
General problem with the forge - wikis, lists, etc. It seems that there is something quite obvious and critical at the same point (disk full, for instance?)
