Summary: New account 'Baumgart' (DT) cannot complete Forge activation
Severity: Normal
Workflow State: Assigned

Initial Comment:
Hi All,

Matthias Baumgart (DT) has registered as 'Baumgart' on the Forge site, but he is not yet recognised as user apparently because the activation procedure did not complete correctly. Can you check what problem the account has, thanks.

Here is an excerpt of Matthias' attempts:
"
1- If I use the activation link and try to log in, I get the following error “Access denied. Credentials you entered do not correspond to valid account”

2- If I try to log in on https://forge.fi-ware.eu/account/login.php I get the following error: “Your account is currently pending your email confirmation. Visiting the link sent to you in this email will activate your account. If you need this email resent, please click below and a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided in registration. [Resend Confirmation Email]” but Resending the Confirmation Email does not help.
Matthias' email address: Matthias.Baumgart at telekom.de

Thanks :)
Pier

Hi Pierangelo,Miguel:

We can delete the two usernames and ask the user if he can sign up again, without using capital letters. I he can, the issue if solved, if not, we mus work on it but at least we didn't end up with thousands of baumgart* usernames for testing..

Please let me know, what do you think to delete the usernames

Best regards!

Hi All,
I saw the ticket message this morning, and I have asked the person having the trouble to check if he had registered with capital 'B' letter, and let me know.

He didn't send me any feedback, but he apparently tried a new registration with the new account name.

I believe he didn't do anythng yet however, since he couldn't join any Forge project so far.
Should I tell something to him?
Best Regards
Pier

Hi Miguel:

I have seen that there is two users baumgart and baumgart1, this last one is dated from today. Is something that you have tested or something similar... I mean I didn't like to delete the two users and find that the last one has some work done. Do you know what I mean?.

Can you give me some advice please?

Best regards!

Please take a look when you have the time. If the user name is literally "Baumbart" (starting with a capital letter), then the remark on the new user form ("do not use uppercase letters") was ignored and it would not be surprising if he is having problems. If the case is different, this would need further research.
