[Fiware-sust-found] TR: Announcing the FIWARE Association

IERC is the cluster of research projects related to IoT.
AFAIK, Rob Van Kranenburg is a guy working mostly in autonomy as writer and free thinker, fond of community building. he likes to be provocative to foster emergence of new ideas.

is initiative raises some interesting questions and in particular, is the fiware brand protected ?
- If not, nothing prevent Rob to go on with this association (and even capture the brand for himself)
- If yes, this raises the question of who can make use of FIWARE brand and under which conditions. This is again a labelling question: the brand can be associated to GE, GEi, trainers, cloud nodes, regions (see latest fiware mundus announcements), etc.. If we want to control the Hquality of the whole ecosystem, process, rules and metrics need to be defined.

At least this gives some biscuit for next telco of sustainability WG…

Kind regards
Franck

I am probably out of sync here.. Who are these people, and how are they related to FIWARE/FI-PPP?

Regards,
Alex
