Thanks for your inquiry. Please have a look at the FIWARE Web pages that
provide a lot of information already.

I also want to point you to the Web pages of the associated use-case
project at mediafi.org that has built various specific enablers on top
of the technology provided by FIWARE. It specifically contains enablers
for event app development. Please see the App generator at the top of
http://lab.mediafi.org/discover.html.
