> SolarReserve (SR) is a leading global developer of utility-scale solar power projects, which include electricity generation by solar thermal energy (CSP) and photovoltaic (PV) and hybrid (combined CSP and PV). In CSP sector, SR is known for its tower and molten salt storage technologies especially the successful operation of the 110MW Crescent Dunes in Nevada last year.

>
> Reviewing the big-scale solar projects developed by SR, most are located in South Africa including the three PV ones Jasper (96MW), Lesedi (75MW) and Letsatsi (75MW). South Africa is commonly regarded as one of the most potential CSP & PV markets for its REIPPPP. Together with its partner ACWA, SolarReserve won the bid during Round3.5 to develop Redstone 100MW tower project, which is expected to be operational by 2018.

> For bid of REIPPPP Round4.5, SR catches the eye of global CSP players again for its join with partner ENGIE with three 150MW tower projects named KotuloTsatsi, Rooipunt and Kalkaar, resources say.

> SolarReserve is also active in other emerging CSP markets like Chile, MENA and China. Earlier this year it was announced they signed a MOU to build 1GW CSP projects in China with Shenhua Group Corporation.
>
> For CSP business in South Africa, Mr. Terence Govender, Vice President Africa from SolarReserve will share more with the details in [7]CSP Focus South Africa 2016 event during Nov.23-24 in Johannesburg, where the most important players will also speak like PP Office, ACWA Power, Eskom, Abengoa Solar, ACS Cobra, SolarReserve, TSK, IFC, Mott MacDonald, GeoSun, Allen & Overy …
