Hello, Juan José,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your help. We have been slow to answer because in the meantime we receive help from some colleagues from Telefonica in the github web.

Here you have the thread of the case: https://github.com/telefonicaid/fiware-orion/issues/3550. Our problem was related with the "TextUnrestricted" data type, which is only available from OCB version 2.4 onwards.

Thank you again for your support and kindness.

Best regards.

Dear José Ramón,

  Thanks for the info about the problem.

  I copy the fiware-tech-help channel in my response to make sure we keep track of this issue.

  I also copy Jason Fox who has more experience with IoT Agents and perhaps has faced the problem, know how to solve it or, alternatively, can forward this to the team at Telefonica that is the major caretaker of the IoT Agent JSON you mention.

  I understood in a previous conversation that you had raised this issue in Stack Overflow .. may you provide the link to the issue raised? I'm saying this because perhaps it is worth to respond (once the solution is found) through Stack Overflow.

  Cheers,

  Juanjo

Hi Juanjo,

According to our previous conversation, let me describe the problem we're finding when processing messages that contain Base64 fields.

We have deployed a FIWARE platform with the following components:

*	Orion Context Broker
*	MongoDB Database
*	IoT Agent JSON
*	Mosquitto MQTT Broker

We've checked that the platform is working properly and received messages are processed by the platform and stored by the MongoDB. The problem is related to a specific IoT sensor which sends its payload in Base64 coding. This coding allows to use several forbidden characters in FIWARE, like

*	>
*	<
*	=
*	;
*	"
*	'
*	(
*	)

We have searched extensively on the internet with no results in order to find a way for using Base64-coded fields in JSON being received by FIWARE platform, but all the potential solutions don’t work at all.

We would be very appreciated if you could help us with this problem and tell us how we can fix this problem. Don't hesitate to contact me for further clarification.

With kindest regards,
